
It’s a truth of life: perspective, or your view and thoughts about things change with distance. Whatever the topic, the further you drill down, the more things change from a fifth-grade test question to a doctorate’s degree’s complexity.
Perspective is exactly why we teach about the peoples of the Andes and studly colonial America. What seems clear to us from afar, is often more complex and murky when we look closer. We should do so more often.
